High School Days

My friend Melanie called the other day. One of her boys is graduating High School and it got her to thinking about the fun times we had together.

My girls recently found one of my old annuals. You forget what smartass friends write in there. It was kinda hard to explain that, no, I didn’t really pose nude for our art classes, and no, I didn’t really date every boy in school, and yes, I guess I was a ‘wild and crazy girl’. And no, Duane’s comment of that ‘special’ night we spent together, was not real and only in his mind. lol

I was in reality, very quiet until I got to know you, then, well, then I felt free to be crazy.

When it came to the dance floor, I had no such problem. On the dance floor I let go. I love to dance, and was good at it too.

There was a group of us that would go to any dance we heard about. Didn’t matter, school, church, community, etc. We all loved to dance. Or maybe the guys were just good sports and didn’t mind being dragged along. lol OH yeah and there were still disco’s during that time. lol

The song playing is one that reminds me of summer. I think I was 15, when this was popular. My boyfriend (at the time) and I would sing it to each other. This was the 70’s and someone always had a comb in their back pocket. It made a great microphone. lol OK, OK, I know, gag, but hey we were young and enjoying ourselves, so, this week’s music is, "Don’t go breakin my heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee. (1976?)

BIG HUGS, Steph

Love to dance, eh?? Kinda like Elaine, on Seinfeld?  If you haven\’t seen that, try looking it up.. it is hysterical!  I love to dance, too.  Always have.  I thinkwe\’re born with music in us, and naturally want to express it.. and alot of timesthings have squashed it down so far, it\’s hard to reach.   In looking at my yearbook (I only had one), it\’s pretty funny howinnocent and naive I obviously was.  I\’ll bet you were a blast to be around.. 😉

    I still love Elton John.
I was looking through my yearbooks not long ago and thinking there was some pretty racy stuff in there.  Sadly, I don\’t remember what half of them were talking about.  I am going to go with your \’story\’ that it was all in the writer\’s mind.  Uh huh.
