Black Friday

Lo there came a woman from the west, and she didst waketh early (3:30AM). For she was to gird her loins, in preparation of ‘Black Friday’ shopping.

And she didst go yonder and wake the fair maidens of her household, to much weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. For they were wont to sleepest in till at least 7AM.

Being the fierce shopping warrior that she was, this woman of the west didst pry them from their beds, and praying mightily for strength and patience, didst explain to them the importance of the 4:30AM arrival at yon marketplace.
For yea, there were many fair and wondrous sales to be had, and this woman of the west, didst delight in a good sale.
So, they did yoke the oxen (Suzuki) and headeth on the long arduous journey to yon marketplace.

And behold when they didst arrive they didst notice many, MANY, people from lands far off.

The woman and her daughters first arrived at the marketplace of a man named Shopko, for she had heard that this man had wondrous items at even more wondrous prices, but having arrived she was much dismayed to see that the line for procuring such items wound around, and around the market itself, and she didst try, but could not see the end of such line. She (being the smart shopping warrior that she was) sayeth to her daughters, "Come let us go down and inhabit the market of, Walmart. For she had heard that Walmart had less shopping pilgrims and even better, shorter check out lines!
So they traveled to yon Walmart, and yea, she didst find all that was advertised for sale, at an abundance even. She didst look and find a portable DVD player that she had been wont to buy at Shopko, and yea she was mightily pleased, and her daughters were mightily pleased at the shortness of such a shopping trip.
And yea after a short time, and the spending of much coin, it was decided that they would retire to a place of food and rest called IHOP. They didst sup a fine meal, and didst rest weary feet. After which they didst hitch up the oxen (Suzuki), filled with much finery, and didst head home, to arrive with much rejoicing and a really long nap.

(Hey I went, I saw, I bought, and I didn’t get in any fist fights!) lol BIG HUGS, Steph

(I know David’s head is gonna explode when he reads this!) lmao

What fun!  We were able to pick up a few cool things yet I wasn\’t pleased with the sales around here.  Maybe the retailers are holding off a while?  If they don\’t hurry, I ain\’t gonna buy nothing!

*wiping the bits of brain left on the screen from an explosion* All I would say is if you are wont to buy DVD players from Shopko or anywhere else, you must go through a hell of a lot of them.  They must also be sensitive to the use of Middle English…

I loved this, Steph. And David? He just doesn\’t get the Middle English/shopping connection. Spoil-sport.

And what is it with IHOP?? Everywhere I go, bloggers are dangling it in front of me; taunting me, if you will, with the deliciousness that is the unattainable IHOP.

Glad you conquered the shopping lists. I prefer to wait until Dec. 24, when I shop in desperation, and everything looks better than nothing.
