Day After

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July, and Happy Canada Day (belated).
Our little valley town doesn’t do any public fireworks, you have to drive to Boise to see any, but, we can buy illegal stuff at the booths. You sign a piece of paper saying that you won’t light them off in Idaho….uh huh, suuure they won’t.
We have a bunch of neighbors that love to go all out and buy the big mortars the real stuff every year, so, we sit outside, do our piddly ass ones and watch the good stuff. You listen for the boom and then watch the area the sound came from. It’s probably a better display than if the town actually did something, AND part of the fun is watching the police run around town trying to track down where the big stuff is coming from, and watching the neighbors time it so they (the cops) have no idea, or aren’t in the area when the big stuff goes off.
The next morning our streets and lawn look like a fireworks stand vomited. It’s worth it though, and dontcha just love the smell of gunpowder in the morning?  BIG HUGS, Steph

Oh…..I love watching the fireworks.  In Hawaii there were quite a few firework shows.  I think it was more catered to the tourist.  Coz in Waikiki, every friday at 8pm, there is a firework show at the Hawaiian Hilton Village.  So for the 4th of July firework is, I have to admit, longer and most of the more fancy fireworks, but I think those who lives in Waikiki or Dawntown already had their fill of the big fireworks.  So I like to go to the Ala Moana beach park and see the little kids playing the fire crackers and stuff.  Although the smoke from all the fireworks is so bad….and it really stinks up ur clothes.  But this year, I just relaxed and watch the firework show from my bedroom window.  🙂  Well….take it easy!

Fireworks are illegal in my town but not in the 4 towns surrounding us!  Plus, our town and the other 4 have "official" shows and we can easily see all 5 shows from our backyard!!!  It\’s an hour or more of continuous fireworks!  Great fun for us but not so fun for the dogs!  lol
Glad you had a good 4th!!
    xoxo   Bob~

A couple years ago we went to Kansas for my inlaw\’s family reunion.  It was like a trip back to the 1970\’s.  I haven\’t shot off so many ridiculous explosives since I used to smuggle stuff to Colorado from Wyoming  Then the next day, there\’s carnage everywhere.
Once a pyro.  Always a pyro.  (Insert evil laugh here!)

I love the thing about signing the paper that you won\’t use the fireworks in Idaho.  So thery are legal in Washington?  Oregon?  Montana?  They are illegal here in NY, too.  My bro Gary who was in some sense \’the authorities\’ usually found out about illegal firework use, because he was also the local ambulance driver.  The Fourth never occurred when someone didn\’t lose a finger or two.  In a way, that was half the fun.
