First Snow

Bob and my oldest daughter have been wishing this day on me for about a month now. Each for his/her own reason. Alaura loves the snow, and always hopes for a ‘snow day’, when they close the schools. She held onto that hope today, right up until the last minute to leave.
Bob, on the other hand, knows how much I hate driving in the stuff. It’s beautiful yes, but dangerous! So, he and his perverse sense of humor find it funny to constantly tell me that it’s going to snow, (he’s been saying that everyday for about a month now). Well today they both got their wish! I took a few pics this morning, and one later. (See Album above) At least the sun has come out… MELT baby, MELT!
Oh yeah, and Bob, …. BITE ME! LOL

Let it snow, looks good, but it sucks to drive, but better than ice. Even if you can drive in snow here, you have to worry about those who don\’t know how, and most drivers here think 4WD means you can go as fast as normal, they don\’t think about stopping until its too late. School was fun, just doing all of the administrative stuff right know, but because I am certified I on my own, one teacher who has been there since the begining of the year has to have a mentor for 3 years, it a new rule for recent grad\’s but it doesn\’t apply to me so no mentor. But I don\’t care, and really don\’t need one. But I ready to get started.Jim

We got about an inch of sloppy snow here in Redmond, WA. I\’m a Colorado boy so it doesn\’t phase me but it sure freaks out the folks here. -BH

@KT, Just for that I sentence you to a winter in Montana, or Eastern Idaho! Funny white stuff indeed!@Brenda, Yeah It is, but I was hoping it would stay up in the mountains a little longer…. like maybe all winter? @Jim, Yep, I see people in 4WD who drive way too fast, wreck and then wonder why. I\’m good on the snow and ice, lots of experience, but it always scares me, who\’s gonna run the light, or slide through the stop sign. Glad you are enjoying school, we need more teachers who actually want to teach.@BH, I\’ve spent many years in eastern Idaho. They don\’t clear the roads there, so, I\’m used to driving in very dangerous conditions. It\’s all the idiots around me that scare me. I remember being in Grass Valley, CA one winter, they got a skiff of snow, maybe 2 inches at most, people were scared to death and skidding off the roads, wrecks everywhere. It would have been funny if not so pathetic.

Haha, Yeah, I really do hate the snow! Of course, all kids like it, huh? No school! Yeah, I remember. The way I see it, adult+snow= no good. Period.About "Shop Cat". I didn\’t find ANY feathers out there! Yeah. I don\’t know if the bird made it or not! Hahahahaha.

I prefer the snow to the freakin ice that creeps under the snow that makes you slip and fall and think about wearing "sensible" shoes

The pics made me homesick – I love snow. A couple of years ago I worked at a job much worse than the present one, in Delaware, and one day there was this moderate snowfall, and we got a snow day! I hadn\’t had one since high school. In Upstate NY, it would have been about an average winter day, but the good folks of DE, bless \’em, went totally ape and declared it morally (and possibly legally) wrong to drive in the county that day. One snow day, snug and warm by a crackling hot porn video is worth ten planned days off. It seems so like a stolen pleasure. And pretty, too…

@MegaBrad, Yep driving in it is the worse, especially when there\’s ice under it! Shop Cat is just too smart for you, she took the body some place nice and quiet…. leave no evidence!! lol****************************************************************************@Kwebie, HI! Yeah it is pretty, now if they could engineer it to stay off the roads… heated asphalt??? Now there\’s an idea!!! Glad you stopped by, come back soon. BIG HUGS!****************************************************************************@Touly, I hear ya. I had a friend that was always falling on the ice, it got to be our private joke that no matter what precautions she took, she would still fall, (it was usually in front of cute guys too) oh the horror! lol****************************************************************************@Mr. White, I love when the snow and ice stick to the trees and up in the mountains, it really is gorgeous, and inspires art. Some one would make big bucks heatting the highways and roads! lol I drive carefully, what scares me is the ones in 4WD\’s that think they are invincible and don\’t drive safely. ****************************************************************************@David, Now, that\’s what I call a good snow day!!! LOL You\’re too funny. I\’d add hot chocolate and some popcorn, a warm blanket and someone to snuggle with, better yet, make your own, snow day porn! lol

You are me. I went out and took a bunch of pictures of the snow, too, bitching the entire time. My kids love it, Husband loves it, and I… don\’t.You, Steph, are a good person, and I\’m grateful for our cyber friendship. Thank you for your kind words and concern over the past few days. I appreciate them — and you.Here\’s to a blazin\’-hot Monday.~k

geez! you have more than us! But that\’s just fine with me, I hate driving in it also. Actually–I hate the idiots around me who try to drive in it. There should be a course on "correcting a fishtail skid" and "why waiting until the last minute to break at a light on ice is BAD"! Stupid people.

Beautiful Fresh sow pictures !!! :)The sky looks like your gonna get more !I love the snow, being in georgia we dont get it much, so its special. I dont have to drive in it cuz the place I live closes down completely. We have no road equiptment and our mountain roads dont have curbs to keep you from sliding away. It never stays more than a couple of days here either. Ill let you know when it snows here.
